Double Toggle Jaw Crusher

The double toggle jaw crusher is built for the hardest primary and secondary crushing duties, where abrasive rock would quickly destroy a lighter machine. Garnet Royal supplies it for hard limestone, dolomite, granite, iron ore, chromite ore and ferroalloy slag at a normal crushing ratio of 6:1, in configurations covering 100 kg – 100 TPH. The Blake double toggle linkage delivers very high crushing force with almost no rubbing motion on the liners.

Frequently asked questions
Why choose a double-toggle instead of a single-toggle jaw crusher?
Because the swing jaw travels an almost horizontal path, there is very little sliding contact between rock and liner. On abrasive feed such as granite, chromite or ferro-alloy slag and black stone, the manganese plates, therefore, last significantly longer. The linkage also develops greater crushing force, so extremely competent rock breaks reliably rather than riding in the chamber.
What crushing ratio should I plan for?
A normal crushing ratio of 6:1 applies, so a 300 mm feed reduces to roughly 50 mm in one pass. Trying to force a greater reduction chokes the chamber and accelerates wear. Where a finer product is needed, the double toggle crusher is followed by a secondary crusher or a roll crusher rather than being closed down further.
Can it be used for secondary crushing?
Yes. The same machine serves both primary and secondary duties on hard rock, ore and minerals. In secondary service it is fed the product of a larger primary crusher, works at a tighter closed-side setting and delivers a correspondingly finer output. The setting range and liner grade are specified for the stage the machine will occupy.
What protects the machine against tramp metal?
The toggle plates are the sacrificial element in the drive train. An uncrushable object entering the chamber buckles a toggle plate long before shaft, bearing or frame damage can occur, and the plate is inexpensive and quick to change. A magnetic separator on the feed conveyor is still recommended for continuous installations.
