Metal Recovery Plant
The Garnet Royal metal recovery plant liberates and recovers entrapped metal from slag, dross, furnace residues and process waste, turning a disposal cost into a saleable product. The plant is engineered around the material — its metal content, hardness and moisture — and delivered as a single package covering process design, manufacture, erection and commissioning.
Recovery is achieved in stages: the feed is crushed progressively so that metal is liberated from the slag matrix without being pulverised, then screened and separated into a metal-rich concentrate and a clean reject fraction. Because the metallics are ductile and the slag is brittle, each crushing stage is selected to break the slag while leaving the metal intact for downstream separation.
Typical process flow
- Feeding — vibrating grizzly feeder meters slag from the receiving hopper and scalps out fines ahead of the crusher.
- Primary crushing — single or double toggle jaw crusher reduces run-of-slag lumps and begins liberating the entrapped metal.
- Secondary crushing — roll crusher sizes the material with minimal fines, so metallics stay coarse enough to separate cleanly. Secondary capacity is matched to the duty, so at the upper end of the range the stage runs as two or more units in parallel.
- Screening — vibrating screen splits the crushed stream into the fractions required for separation.
- Separation — magnetic and/or gravity separation recovers the metal concentrate from the non-metallic reject.
- Handling — belt conveyors and bucket elevators link the circuit and deliver product and reject to stockpile or bins.

Every metal recovery plant is designed around your specific slag. Share the material type, metal content, feed size and required throughput and we will propose a circuit and budget.
Why a plant, not just machines
- Single point of responsibility from process design through to commissioning.
- Crushing stages matched to liberation size, so metal is freed without being lost to fines.
- All major equipment manufactured in-house — crushers, screens, feeders and conveyors from one works.
- Layout engineered to your site, headroom and existing material flow.
- Ongoing support for wear parts and spares across the whole circuit.
Applications
- Steel plant slag processing
- Ferro-alloy slag & dross recovery
- Foundry residue reclamation
- Metal recycling & secondary smelting
