Coal Crushing & Handling Plant

The Garnet Royal coal crushing and handling plant takes raw coal from receipt through to the point of use — crushing it to the size the boiler, kiln or process requires and conveying it continuously to bunkers or stockpile. Feeders, crushers, screens, conveyors and elevators are engineered as one system and commissioned as one plant.

Coal is friable and generates fines readily, so the circuit is built to reduce it in controlled stages rather than in one aggressive pass. Pre-screening removes material already at size before it reaches the crusher, which protects capacity, cuts power draw and keeps fines within specification.

Typical process flow

  • Receipt & feedingreciprocating or vibrating feeder draws coal at a controlled rate from the receiving hopper.
  • Pre-screeningvibrating screen removes on-size coal ahead of the crusher so only oversize is crushed.
  • Crushingroll crusher or hammer mill reduces coal to the required size with minimal fines.
  • Screening — product screen confirms size; oversize returns for recrushing.
  • Conveyingbelt conveyors and bucket elevators carry coal to bunkers, with tripper or shuttle conveyors distributing across multiple bunkers.
  • Dust control — transfer points enclosed and provided for dust suppression or extraction.
